Single-mode and multi-mode are the two most commonly used types of fiber pulsed lasers.
The laser mode generally refers to the energy distribution in a plane perpendicular to the laser propagation direction. Single-mode lasers are classified as either single-mode or multi-mode. Single-mode lasers produce only a single mode of laser output during operation. The energy intensity of a single-mode laser gradually decreases from the center to the periphery, and the energy distribution follows a Gaussian curve. This beam is called a fundamental-mode Gaussian beam. Single-mode laser beams feature high beam quality, a small beam diameter, a small divergence angle, and an energy distribution close to an ideal Gaussian curve. Furthermore, single-mode lasers have excellent focusing characteristics, resulting in a small focused spot and strong mode stability, making them suitable for cleaning applications requiring strong removal, such as rust.
The beam output by multi-mode lasers is often composed of a combination of multiple modes. The energy distribution within the spot is relatively uniform, and the more modes there are, the more uniform the energy distribution. This beam is also called a flat-top beam. Compared to single-mode lasers, multi-mode lasers have lower beam quality and a larger divergence angle, requiring optical systems with larger apertures for transmission. Furthermore, the focused spot is larger than that of single-mode lasers. However, multi-mode is easier to achieve large single pulse energy, high peak power and high average power output, and the energy distribution is uniform, which is more advantageous for cleaning scenarios requiring less damage and high efficiency, such as molds.

4.Low Heat Affected Zone: Heat is concentrated at the instant of the pulse, preventing material deformation or damage.
5.Point/Scanning Cleaning: Parameters such as pulse energy, repetition rate (number of pulses emitted per second), and pulse width can all be precisely controlled and adjusted. The optical system allows for adjustable spot size, enabling cleaning of everything from tiny areas to large areas.
